A great article in the publication Machine Design, featuring our Holographic Telepresence technology. Journalist Rehana Begg speaks with our CEO Larry O’Reilly about how our hologram technology is carving out a growing niche and solving “the problem of getting subject matter experts to meetings they couldn’t get to otherwise.”
We’re excited to share that WestJet’s Christmas Miracle: To Give Or Receive Campaign has been selected for a Shorty Award under the category Long Form Video, Storytelling. The campaign was produced by WestJet, Studio M, ARHT Media & Unified Content.
For eight years WestJet has been delivering a holiday season video intended to spread the joy of the holidays throughout their guests. This year, WestJet decided that instead of them deciding who gets what, and who goes where or who gets reunited with whom, they would leave the decision to their guests. During a pop-up event at the Evergreen Brickworks in Toronto, WestJet invited a few of their guests to enter a giant tent in the shape of a Santa hat where they were greeted by live holograms of Santa Claus and Ebeniza Scrooge, the lone descendant of the infamous Ebenezer Scrooge.
ARHT Media helped deploy these holograms using our Holographic Telepresence technology and holographic display staging expertise.
Check out the video below to see how our holograms helped guests decide what to do with their gifts. Either to keep the gift for themselves or give it away to someone who could use it.
Key features of the campaign included a pop-up activation, holograms and a Christmas Miracle Online Hub microsite to help share information about the campaign as well as record donations and social content the campaign generated. Alongside this was a strong social media push that included a series of teaser videos, a social media contest and a hero video launch.
Videos that were released on social media reached over 104.8M media impressions and generated over 7.4M video views.
Moreover, with the 2019 campaign specifically designed to drive social engagements, it helped generate over 21.1M impressions on social media primarily through the use of hashtags on Twitter and Facebook. As well as gained a 92% positive sentiment online with many commenting that this was the best WestJet Christmas Miracle to date.
Results for the Shorty Awards will be announced on May 12, 2020.

The team at ARHT Media would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to WestJet, Studio M and Unified Content for selecting our technology for this project and including us in this truly awesome campaign!
Coverage of our company and technology by Radio Canada International. Journalist Marc Montgomery writes about how ARHT Media’s Holographic Telepresence technology has found a novel and very practical use for holograms.
With the rise of multinational corporations and the growing number of international conferences, Holographic Telepresence is quickly becoming a more efficient and sustainable way to send executives and experts half-way around the world without having them use costly and time-consuming air travel for meetings that often only require a few hours of their time.
Check out the latest article in the Toronto Star highlighting our Holographic Telepresence technology and its ability to bring people from global offices around the world together for face-to-face meetings as holograms.
We reflect back to last year to see how our Holographic Telepresence technology helped avoid a great deal of Carbon Emissions for our clients.
Through the use of our Hologram technology, people can help eliminate time and geography and reduce their carbon footprint by choosing not to fly to their next meeting or event, and rather appear as a lifelike hologram complete with the ability to see and speak with their audience, just like if they were present in the room.

On December 5th, 2019 ARHT had the pleasure of working with the Korea Tourism Organization to beam a live hologram of tech evangelist Dahlia El Gazzar to Seoul, South Korea to speak at her keynote session at the 2019 Korea MICE Awards and Conference (KMA2019) using ARHT Media’s Holographic Telepresence technology.
Dahlia El Gazzar, appeared as a lifelike live and interactive hologram speaking about event tech trends that are happening in the meetings and conferences industry set to impact the sector in the next decade.
During her opening remarks, she also gave highlighted KMA2019 as innovators for using Holographic Telepresence to beam her to the event in Seoul from Los Angeles. Saying “this is absolutely amazing, you are way to forward-thinking for a allot of conferences that are happening in this world.”
Following her Keynote, Dahlia El Gazzar also participated in a panel discussion as a hologram, joining Harsha Hariharan, Sales Manager-Event Platform, Asia for Cvent and Charles Truong, President at Klik.
ARHT Media’s Holographic Telepresence technology allows for speakers to beam into events as live holograms that can see and interact with their audience in real-time. The technology has been steadily seeing greater adoption at meetings, conferences and events around the world, as more and more speakers realize that they can own the stage from anywhere in the world appearing as holograms that feel like they are present in the room and even keep audiences more engaged than speakers who are there in person.
This rising trend is also catching the eye of event producers, who are clearly seeing the impact that Holographic Telepresence plays in creating memorable experiences for their attendees, giving access to even more subject-matter experts at a great value when compared to similar technologies.
