In March 2017, ARHT Media beamed renowned theoretical physicist, Stephen Hawking from his home in England to Hong Kong. Professor Hawking appeared as a live hologram at the event titled “An Evening with Professor Hawking,” where he had an interactive Q&A session with over 700 people. Professor Hawking was unable to travel to attend the event in person, yet ARHT Media’s technology allowed him to transcend time and geography to be with an audience in the Asia-Pacific.
With the help of PR agency, Fleishman Hillard Hong Kong, we created a media buzz surrounding the event that extended from Hong Kong to the rest of the world. Our marketing strategy included exclusive behind-the-scenes tours, technology demonstrations, and interviews with our executive team.
The media campaign achieved coverage by over 120 media outlets across the world, with an online reach of 24,777,700 people. Successfully pitching to Xinhua News Agency and Agence France Presse led to the event being reported on in over 20 countries.
Due to the success of the event and our PR agency’s efforts, the event won Bronze for both the Best Experiential PR Campaign and the Technology Campaign of the Year at Marketing Magazine’s 2018 PR Awards. This award marks the third time that this event has won an award at the PR Awards, having won Gold for the Best Experiential PR Campaign and the Best PR Campaign – Media Relations at the 2017 awards.
The Best Experiential PR Campaign Award recognizes campaigns that focus on helping consumers experience a brand through sensory engagement, while The Best Technology Campaign Award recognizes the innovative and effective incorporation of technology into PR campaigns to deliver action-orientated communications that are crucial to its success. The Best PR Campaign – Media Relations recognizes campaigns that effectively engage members of the media in promoting a product or service.
Marketing Magazine’s PR Awards are the premier event celebrating excellence in public relations across Asia. Returning for its fifth year, the PR Awards recognize brands that have pushed themselves towards measurable success. An independent panel of 15 leading senior PR practitioners in the region judged the awards. Winners of the PR Awards represent the very best in the industry.
